Esme Lower
Esme Lower, also known as Melo, is a multimedia artist working across murals and illustration, exploring themes of liveness, musicality, the body, strength, and playfulness. Drawing inspiration from the comics and popular culture she grew up with, Esme creates distinctive, character-driven stories that bring ideas to life with boldness and joy.
Esme's work often features elvish characters, curious hybrids, and expressive figures that inhabit vivid worlds. Passionate about large-scale public art, live music, and community collaboration, she continues to push her character design and painting styles to grow more expansive and daring. Through experimentation with scale, proportion, and the interplay between human forms and bulbous plant life, Esme expands her visual language and reclaims local spaces with bright and energetic artwork. Her ongoing pursuit of finding “chaos in the mellow” captures the dynamic tension that fuels her evolving creative practice.
Esme is part of our newly initiated Next Generation roster for 2026-2027.
